Folding Attic Stairs, also known as folding ladders, are a convenient and easy way to turn your unused attic space into a useful space. You have lots of storage space in your attic, but you aren't using it because you hate to drag out a ladder and squeeze through your access panel every time you want to put something up or take something out. If you're like most homeowners, you probably need that space. Consider your attic(s). It may be hard to get up there now, and there may not be a floor, but we can change that. Folding stairs are intended to provide easy access to an attic. When you need to get into the attic, you pull down the stairs; when you're done with them, they fold back up into the attic. Most houses have attic space above the upper level and many have attic space over the garage. Either place is usually ideal. After having attic stairs installed, many customers simply use the attic as is. Most attics are filled with insulation and many have no lighting. You must be careful to walk only on the support joists, otherwise it is possible to fall through the ceiling below. Lightweight items can easily be put up there on top of the insulation. However, a better way is to have some plywood flooring and a simple pull chain light bulb holder installed. Not only does it help you see what you are doing up there, but the flooring makes it easier to get around and provides you with a sturdy, solid storage platform. There are several different models of attic stairs to choose from. They range from standard duty to heavy duty, depending on your needs. There are also different installation options. Contact me so we may discuss you needs and put that attic space to good use. |
